MediCare Detox: Starts Monday!
No corn
No tomatoes
No wheat/gluten
No red meat
No sugar/honey
No eggs
NO CAFFEINE!!
Not a lot.
This is going to be a rough 3 weeks. BUT I’ll feel 1000x better at the end of this. This is the jump start I need I think! Wish me luck- I’ll let you know how it goes!
Rough times you guys.
More to come soon…
No more running in the cold...
at least not without the right gear!
It’s too damn cold up here in Alaska now to be running in just long sleeves and under armor running pants. Now I need gloves for SURE, a fleece headband, and probably a running jacket. Zac (my husband) said that his sweat was freezing to his back- yikes!
We might take up cross country skiing for the winter in lieu of running- still great cardio! But...
Double time
Yesterday I played catch up and did P90X Chest and Back and P90X Plyo. Yikes!! I felt bad ass but never again!!
P90X+Run
Last week my husband and I started a new round of P90X and we got back into the swing of running (we took a break while he was on vacation- much needed rest!).
Oh, man, I’m sore! P90X + running 4 times a week= kicks your ass! But it’s a good thing ;) Today is shoulders, biceps, and triceps plus ab ripper and a 4+ mile run. Bring it onnnnn!!!!!
Peace out, gluten!
After serious GI issues (which I thought were dairy), I went to the doctor to find out it’s most likely a gluten allergy.
I’m a baker/pastry chef.
And I’m allergic to gluten???!!!?!
Ugh. I’m not very pleased to say the least. BUT after a few days of not having any gluten, I feel 10000 times better. My doctor might be on to something. I had an allergy test too, IgE and...

The Culprit
I was off dairy for about a year after my daughter was born because she couldn’t tolerate it and I was breastfeeding. I always had some issues with dairy but it wasn’t so bad as to completely go off of it; I just didn’t over-indulge. Well, I have been having a little bit more and more dairy since I stopped breastfeeding and it has finally caught up with me. A piece of cheese...
Getting in the Groove
I’ve had a hard time these last few days with what I’m eating. I’ve just wanted to snack constantly and while it’s usually “healthy” food, I’m still consuming too many calories. Ugh!! So frustrating!
We ran 3.77 miles today. Half way through I felt like I was going to puke. I NEVER feel like that. It was obvious that something I ate earlier was really...
Epic fail
One slice of pizza and a teeny tiny root beet float at my husbands office party instead of a run. Boooooo. Today’s a new day though!!
At least it was just one piece…right??
Good enough
So after running regularly and running at least 4 miles at a time, why does a good 3 mile run feel like I didn’t even do anything?? I mean this emotionally- my body, heart, and lungs got a great (but lighter) workout! What’s up with that??
Deadline
Does anyone else out there have a tax accountant husband? Yeah, well there is a huge 9/15 deadline which has caused my husband to work super late these last few days. The result: solo 4.5 mile run last night. It felt so good but my pace was quite a bit slower than usual because 1) I didn’t have someone else there to help ‘push’ me and 2) I didn’t have someone else there to...
At the starting line...
Let’s just start this post out by saying how embarrassing this is. Very. BUT, that is why I’m doing this in the first place: to get into shape and look killer in a bikini. Now, I’m not trying to make excuses here or anything, but I feel completely bloated today (yay, on the day I take my pictures!), and the scale is reflecting that with what I can only assume is water weight....
Run yesterday...
didn’t happen. FAIL. But, we’re making up for it tomorrow. Tonight: hopefully 4 miles…we’ll see…
Run when you're pissed!
It greatly reduces your pace! :)
3.18 miles in 28:06 minutes- yeehaw!!
Workin' it Out
I’m still trying to decide where this blog is going (well, since I just started it, where it WILL go). At the moment I don’t have a specific fitness goal other than to just be more FIT, which is obviously a little vague. And at the moment I don’t have any followers, so I’m just sending this out into the void trying to work this new blog out!
We go on a run as a family 4...
