We finally got down to cleaning out our second bedroom. It was quite the feat! Before yesterday Zac and I would walk in there with all the intention of cleaning it out, just to turn around and find something else to do- anything! But yesterday was the day. We went through boxes and tubs. We organized office supplies and put away our old college notebooks and textbooks. We can actually move around and work in there now- yes!! It is definitely nice to have that DONE!

Now, for the homework…I have a ton of it. Literally 2,000 lbs. Ugh.

On Campus

Icicles on our car

Last night is snowed, snowed, snowed! This is our first real Alaskan snow!!!! The first picture was taken on campus after I got off work today. The second was also taken right after work- there were icicles hanging from the front of our car!!

I love snow! For some reason, the cold is so much easier to bear when there is a bunch of pretty snow. Now the question is…Will I still think it’s pretty when there is 5 feet of it?!? We shall see…

Last night’s dinner was the ultimate FAIL. We spent a good hour trying to decide what we wanted for dinner, and came to no decision. So, we went to the store. We had to get stuff for whatever we made, so we were going to decide then. Finally, we decided on beef tacos because we had about 3/4 lb. sitting in the fridge from a 1lb package that I had opened the night before. We got a tomato, an avocado, some cheddar cheese, and ice cream (of course!)…only to come home to find the ground beef had spoiled over night. FAIL! So, we got a Papa Murphy’s pizza instead- 1/2 pepperoni and sausage, 1/2 Cowboy.

We WILL have tacos tonight!!!

I was in Barcelona yesterday. I was in a little clothing boutique at closing time trying on dresses and drinking free beer from a can, listening to Colleen discuss up-and-coming grunge rock bands with the boutique owner. Then I was walking the streets with my girls, listening to Spanish and eating ice cream. What a good night.

For those of you who hadn’t heard my Barcelona story before, don’t worry, I’m not drinking while I’m pregnant! I bought a dress when I really was in that boutique and I wore it yesterday. It brought me back to our crazy days in Europe.

Midterm Time!

This week I have my first grad school midterm. But guess what? We have all 25 questions and all answers! Apparently it’s a learning experience, not just a test…sounds good to me! :)

I am getting SO excited for the holidays!! I think this year I am extra excited because last year I was in France. So, basically, I haven’t had my “real” or traditional and familiar holidays for two years!! On Halloween all of us in my Early Literacy class have a Saturday make up class from 9am-4pm. It is going to be a scrapbooking and papermaking class/workshop because our “finals” are portfolios for all of our classes, so it gives us an opprotunity to work on them, which is nice. But since it’s on Halloween, my friend Brinna and I are going to bring in Halloween cookies and cupcakes! Oh, how I LOVE to bake!!! Especially for the holidays!

On Thursday we have our second pre-natal appointment. I am now 16 weeks!! Hello second trimester! I’ve been waiting a LONG time for you! My morning sickness is starting to die down, I’ve been actually WANTING to eat (instead of forcing myself to), and I have a thousand times more energy. It is SO nice!

P.S. I miss Ganny’s pumpkin bread. :( Mine is good, but it just isn’t cutting it.

While Zac was at work yesterday, I made real pumpkin bread. The cinnamon and freshly grated nutmeg made it smell like fall in our kitchen. It took a good two hours to clean the pumpkin, then bake it down, let it cool, and finally make the bread. In between all of these steps I did the dishes (by hand because our dishwasher exploded), did the laundry, broke down the boxes and got the rest of the recycling ready, swept the floor, and got ready to go watch Zac play some two-hand-touch with his colleagues. Afterward, we came back home to change and then we went to Outback Steakhouse where I ate an entire 8oz. prime rib, broccoli, and baked potato with the works- the most I’ve eaten in months. Ahhh, it felt good! Then, after trying to go to the movies (it was PACKED!!) we rented a few from Blockbuster and I ate Sweetarts while Zac mended his aching muscles (he’s pretty sore today :)). It has been a productive weekend…now to do some homework!

i knew it would happen by the end of the week. i tried on three pairs of pants yesterday in my rush to get ready for work. first pair- eeeh, not today. second pair- i can do this for the day…(10 minutes later) these are just too tight, i feel like i can’t breathe! third pair- maternity pants. sweet relief, but the slightest bit depressing. they’re a little big, but zac says it just gives me room to grow. :)
